Ash Nayler Photography began five years ago, however, my love of photography began much earlier than that at the young age of thirteen and has been growing ever since. During my high-school years I found myself more and more behind the camera, taking pictures of my friends, family, and strangers. This was fruitful in many respects—not only because it gave my friends the chance to fulfill their childhood dreams of modeling—but also because it allowed me capture real life and get and give inspiration through my photos. I realized during this time that I was not going to follow in the footsteps of so many of my fellow high-school peers and attend university—I knew I wanted to be a photographer and so I spent the last two years of my high-school career developing a portfolio that would lead me into a great post-secondary photography program.

My college years marked the beginnings of my love for the craft of photography and the romance of hard labour that it takes to create a studio, location, or candid shot. After learning all the theoretical aspects of photography in school, I took my love of photography to a new level by starting my own business and, thus, Ash Nayler Photography was born. I opened a studio flat downtown Peterborough where I continue to do most of my studio work and where clients, or just curious spectators, can come and take a look at my work. The pictures displayed range from wedding photos to travel photos, all of which have been important contributions to my business.

I began shooting weddings, which merged my love of photos with my love of life and, most notably, life’s cherished moments. After building a strong human cliental through weddings, I began working on my canine cliental as a dog photographer for an independent dog shop in downtown Peterborough. This quickly became a success and took me all across central and southern Ontario. In addition to capturing love and friendship I have been given the opportunity to take photos of first pregnancies, family portraits, and fashion shows.

Ash Nayler Photography has grown so much in the last five years and I could not be more pleased with the community it has created and by the wonderful associations I have been able to take part in. I am always working on new projects (most recently, I have spent my time taking photos for art’s sake) so please keep in touch with me.
